In this chapter the text talks about Criminal justice but looking at it from a critical perspective. We also learn that historical writing or even historical journals can be biased because of the person that is writing it. For example if the mayor of New York City in the 1960s wrote history papers they would almost be biased because in that time he had a lot of power. This chapter tells us how to think critically about what we are reading, as well as to make sure that what we are reading isn't biased in any way. We are also told that social class plays a big role in society, and these social classes are (1) what behaviors are defined as criminal and subject to enforcement.
